What this site collects
The pages themselves do not run analytics, advertising pixels, or a mailing-list form that stores addresses on a server. I do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or TikTok Pixel.
If you use the waypoint form or any “email Gary” button, your email app opens a message to dispatch@hikingwild.com. That message leaves your device only if you send it. I then have whatever you wrote, and I use it to reply. I do not sell that email address or add it to an automated list.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Hostinger. Like any web host, the server can log an IP address, browser type, and the page requested, for security and operations. I do not use those logs to build a marketing profile.
Amazon
Some links go to Amazon.com with an affiliate tag. If you click one, Amazon may set its own cookies and track that the visit came from this site. That is Amazon’s system, described in Amazon’s privacy notice. Read the affiliate disclosure too. Until the tracking id in the links is replaced with a real Associates id, those links still go to the product, but they will not credit a commission.
Payments
The $19 route pack is meant to be sold through a Stripe Payment Link or Payhip page that I paste in later. Until that link is live, the buy button does not process a payment. When it does, the payment company — not this HTML file — collects your card details. I will get the information that service normally shares with a seller, such as your email and the fact that you paid, so I can deliver the file.
Cookies
These pages do not set their own tracking cookies. Fonts may be loaded from Google Fonts. If that request fails, the site falls back to fonts already on your device.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top will change with it.
