Terms
These terms cover hikingwild.com, the writing on it, and the digital Iron Furnace Route Pack. Contact: dispatch@hikingwild.com.
The site is field notes, not a guarantee
Trails change. Roads close. Springs dry up. A blaze gets painted over. Nothing on this site is a promise that a route is open, safe, or legal to walk the day you go. You are responsible for conditions, park rules, private property, and your own decisions. Shenandoah National Park and George Washington National Forest make their own rules. Follow those, not a blog, when they conflict.
I do not promise “daily trail updates,” and there is no automated system publishing reports. If a page does not exist, I have not written it.
The $19 route pack
The Iron Furnace Route Pack is a digital download: waypoints, parking notes, and water notes for the furnace route described on this site. It is a file, not a guided hike and not a rescue plan.
The buy button is not a working checkout until I replace the BUY_LINK placeholder with a Stripe Payment Link or a Payhip URL. Until then, ordering is by email to dispatch@hikingwild.com. After a real payment link is in place, you should receive the file by the method that checkout uses (usually email). If it does not show up, write me and I will send it.
Because the file is digital, I do not offer a refund once it has been delivered, except where the law says I must. If I cannot deliver it, you get your money back.
$99 and $199 custom work
Those are personal services. They start when we agree by email what you want and how you will pay. I will say what you are getting before you pay. Either of us can walk away before payment.
Affiliate links
Amazon links are disclosed on the disclosure page. A commission does not raise your price.
Your messages
Do not send me anything you need kept secret from a normal email inbox. See the privacy policy for how email from the site works.
Use of the writing
You can read it and share a link. Do not copy the dispatches or the route pack and publish them as your own.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for injury, getting lost, damaged gear, or a bad day that started with something you read here. If that limit is not allowed for a particular claim, the limit is the amount you paid me for the file or service the claim is about, or $19 if you paid nothing.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, aside from conflict-of-law rules. If a line here is unenforceable, the rest still stands.
